I will tell you from experience, that if you start fooling with a jackplate get a a water pressure guage. The motor can be peeing and still not heave enough pressure to reach the top of engine and fry it. Whoever said earlier about the water pressure guage is telling the truth!
Also when you raise the jack plate you will have a slight increase in rpm's and he is already running too high. Those who say he is over pitched on the prop are wrong also because a increase in pitch will decrease rpms.......this is kinda why I keep thinking he has a hub that is slipping a little bit.
