CH68, I'd love to get the 788, but again money is the issue. I'm spreadin it thin to get this one since I'm only part time right now. The ethernet cord would def be a plus, but I dunno if I can swing the extra 150 bucks for the 788. I'll see what I can get goin tho. Appreciate the heads up

MO, have you looked at the 581, it's a couple hundred bucks cheaper and it did a great job for us this weekend in crappieater's boat. If I cant get the sensativity figured out on mine that's what I am gonna get till I can run with the big dogs.

There's a 798 SI in the classifieds for 825, know it's more but may want to look at it.

Rees, I looked at the 581i. Is it just the plain DI or does it have the 2d as well? I couldn't find any pics of it. From what Ive read the 597 and 788 both are almost exactly what I'm lookin for(in my price range)

As for the 798, It'll take me a while to save up enough for that bad boy. I figured if I save that long, what will two or three more months hurt to go on and get as big of a unit as I can stand. Maybe by next summer I'll be able to foot one of those... I'm tryin to teach myself to be more patient and get what I want, not jump on a "good enuff" deal. But thanks for lookin out for me

Well I talked to my mom and she said she'll foot the difference.... She said she'd rather me be out fishing than smoking crack or somethin haha.... Bad thing is, I believe this is more addictive!

It prolly is but I know a bunch of ole geezers that fish and not many crack heads make it to geezer status!!
