Its really pretty easy to load a boat that won't start.....if you have a rope hooked to it. :) My next door neighbor launched his boat without a rope last week.....the wind caught the boat before he could get in it and took it out in the lake......he had to get someone to go and get it.
Us "OLD" folks don't want to get in once and out one time. To much climbing in and out. Maachuu, Maj. and I have a retractable rope outfit on our boats. He might know what they are called but I don't. I have a slip knot in the end of the rope and slid it over the winch handle. When the boat is in the water, I pull it to the bank. Park the truck and go fishing. Once in and once out.
OK.....Major....tell us about the retractable rope thingy. What do you call it? , where do you get it?, and how much rope does it hold? cost?
Ok G, just for you....

I've got one under the bow and aft deck. When I get ready to launch, I pull out about 20' of rope, loop the end around the winch, back down till the boat floats, pull forward slowly till the boat beaches itself, get out & unhook rope, park truck, go fishing.
