    Default Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Redux

Went home yesterday at lunch and found that my power is out. No problem, I figured they'd just taken a portion down in order to do some work somewhere else. Well, got home and come to find out it's just my house....nobody else on my street has an issue. So...call Entergy and they tell me it will be Saturday PM before they can get somebody out to look at it.

No problem, call the father inlaw and borrow his generator, but that sucker is big and LOUD!!!! But, I can power pretty much anything I want with it, right up to the A/C if I had one that is...Oh, I didn't mention that? Yeah, my A/C has been out for about 18 days now. New one is supposed to be here today with a planned install of........Saturday. No matter, it was supposed to be here Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday too. Apparently, they ordered me one of them Mexican Jumping A/Cs and they're having trouble getting it in the box or sump'n.

So, last night I had the flat screen going with a movie in the DVD player while 2 deep freezes and the refrigerater were going while we were charging the cell phones and the rechargeable fan and I turned to my wife and told her, that this must be what it was like for the settlers when they settled the West back at the turn of the 19th century. Sure wish they made extension cords as long as they did back then.

Sure does make me want to get a set up to back feed the breaker box. Normally, our power is pretty reliable and don't lose it for more than a couple of hours, but with these storms, I'm way, way, way down the list and ever available hand has been sent to the heaviest hit areas. I know several of the linemen around, but I sure do hate to call one of 'em and say "Hey, when you get done with your 96 straight hour shift, swing by here on your way home cause I don't want to miss Dancing with the Stars". Problems, I ain't got not problems.

First step is to check for power at your transformer. This can be acomplished by using your voltage meter from atop your 30' aluminum extension ladder that you can secure in the ditch full of water

Our power went out at the office yesterday and when I looked outside, I seent the powerlines bounching up and down. Thought some idget had his a power pole and jacked it up. NOPE, Another Idget had trimmed some tree limbs off this big old Oak tree bout a block away and had only cut the limbs overhanging his house. Ummm, can we say lop sided tree that will fall when a stiff wind blows? Sucker fell onto State screet and hit a power pole. NOW I have all kinds of serer probs to deal with here. One printer won;t hit the network, another puter won;t hit the server just crazy crap
