As far as lockjaw........... When you are announcing the winners... what if you did a mini-interview with them BEFORE you handed them their prize? Call the team to the podium and ask them a set of questions (ask each team the exact same questions). That way, they'd have to interact somewhat with the other contestants and if they tell the truth folks might learn something new?
If you have a couple of folks that place in a lot of the FJ's....., ask them if they'd put on an informal seminar the night before the tourney for all the paying participants. Could give them a "gift" for doing the seminar or something to give them incentive to do it. Might have a short Q & A afterwards?
