Now that we've narrowed down the two frontrunners and the primarys are over, should we have an official king gewber election tomorrow?
It's happened to the best of us. That ramp has gotten several of my buddies boats.... I thought mine was gone at Holiday a few weekends ago but luckily it came off in the water. Glad you didn't bust hole in bottom of it.
I don't know Major we may need a run off on this one. It's going to be close. I always unhook mine at the top of the ramp and have never had one slip at Sardis, ever. I do hook it on the way up though because the bunks are wet. Dude that sucks.
OWE EM GEE! ! !
Who would have thunk....only 8 days wandering in the wilderness.

I'm sorry it happened to you ES, but... seeing your pics is etched in my peabrain for life, and your misfortune will keep me from being in the running for the biggest GEWBER award for something like that. Maybe something else, but not that.. I'ma gonna keep it hooked in the future.
Years ago I saw it happen to a gewber with a brand new Four Winns ski boat at the high water ramp at Techville on Sardis. With his wife at the console he backed it in the water. She cranked it, put it in reverse, and was just poring the gas to it. Nothing. He pulled to the top of the ramp with the boat still on the trailer, got out and looked at it. You could see the lightbulb go off. He walked over and unhooked the winch. His miscalculation was that his brand new, just got wet for the first time, Four Winns was sitting on a roller bunk trailer. While he was still congratulating himself for figuring out the winch delima, the boat promptly rolled off the trailer, slammed onto the concrete ramp, and skidded 100' down to the water. Darn near threw his wife out when it went kersplash.
Oh me .
Wow! ES that really sucks! Hope ya get everything fixed up on her soon.
I've seen people that can't back a trailer or load a boat and some just do some down right silly stuff on the ramp. Just last week I watched a guy put in by himself with the long rope method. Ya know, back it in with a rope tied to trailer and boat. Problem was he didn't have it tied to his boat. The rope was just coiled up on the front deck. He launches and away goes the boat, and away, and away, and away. Had to laugh... kinda, I was the next to launch and had to wait on the gewber:) I must admit, never seen anyone dump one on the ramp though!:)
Maybe we will have a co-gewber of the year.
I am thinking we may need a run off on this one....ES pulled a pretty darn good one there.
true Maj! I was trying to take it easy on the boy.
Its happened to a few of my buddies. Most of the happenings were during the winter when their runners were frozen... Not the first time it's happened and sure won't be the last. I did with a smaller boat duck hunting several years back....
Again, I'm real sorry this happened to you, or anybody for that matter. Thanks for sharing it with us, may prevent it happening to some of us, excluding WB of course,,
If you are interested, I know a guy that is absolutely the best of the best at welding aluminum.. Only thing, he is here in the Jackson area. Let me know and I'll ask him..
Does your trailer have rollers? I have always unhooked mine at the top of the ramp.
Same here Wayne. I always unhook all the straps at the top of the ramp so I can get in and out of the ramp fast
uhhhh, no it ain't.
Ya know, the way I see this, is on your maiden voyage, you HAVE out gewbered Wb. And also might i add. I predickted this jus last week. I was wrong about how long it would take for the wifey to let you carry the boat out. (This gewberish episode may jus take care of that though). She should sell her boat today before you get seriously hurt.
Like someone else said, don't never unhook yo boat til the tires touch the water. Specially since you don't know how the boat reacts to anything.
WB's misfortune was an oversight on his part. Yours, on the other hand, was jus plain ignerance. DD, you are Inchin yo way up the ladder towards glory. Or should I say, they makin you look smarter than you really is.
No rollers on the trailer. Maybe they waxed the thing. We were backing down at a normal rate of speed and no sudden stop. It just slid right off.
I knew that I could count on you minner.. Pffffffffffffttt
Guess this puts me at Gewb number 3 man
I was at the Madison Landing yesterday at the Rez & saw a girl spraying silicone on the bunks, she said they do this before loading the first time of the season. They had a big boat. Maybe that's what the former owner did to your trailer ES.
Sorry ES. All boats are different, I've had some that you ALWAYS had to keep hooked up until you hit water and some that are never a problem even when the bunks are wet. Tough way to find out yours is in the first category, hope you get off easy on the repairs.
So sorry to hear about that, Empty!!!!! :( Get an aluminum welder that knows his stuff and have him fix the boat properly!!! Do not attempt to patch it or let some other YAYHOO attempt it!!!
Best of luck!
Boo Hoo... sniffle sniffle

On the positive side, besides the new leak and steering alignment problem, the motor ran great and everything else seemed to work fine.
The FF at the console wouldn't read my depth while the boat was moving, so I thought it was because the transducer was mounted in a wierd spot and the turbulence was interupting. But after I took the boat out of the water I noticed that the TD had come unclipped and was flopping around. Hopefully it will work properly now
I was fishing a small state lake by my house one day. I was in a cove around the corner from the boat ramp and heard a loud crash. A guy in a bass boat just up the cove hollered "Oh Crap" and took off for the ramp. Curiosity got the best of me so I fired up also. When I got there, there was a big fish/ski combo sitting on the boat ramp and a long fiberglass skid mark leading to it. It took the three of us about an hour to get it far enough up on the trailer to back down into the water to finish loading it.
Cupcake cupcake
And this is why I love reading what you 'sippi boys are always doing! Man this is great stuff. I mean you cant make this stuff up either. Me and a buddy had this happen once on a ramp on the Miss River up here but we were atleast drunk.
Look, I'll take the boat off your hands for 4 grand. You can cut your losses and no one gets hurt. Just have your wife call me.
