I just bought a new battery last year for my trolling motor, but I am wanting to get a longer lasting one. the one I have now is a Walmart one. I have read and I see mention of AGM and then 27's, 31's and optima. My question is this, my trolling motor is the PDV2 with iPilot 12volt. What would be a good battery for my case ? I have a separate battery for cranking the motor, so this will be solely for the trolling motor and another thing is being able to find a good battery up here in the sticks
thanks

Group 31 is the way to go if you have enough room for that size. Best thing would be two group 31's if you going to be pulling cranks a lot. Wire them in paralell for 12 volts.

I use 2 group 27's tied in paralell and get 6-7 hrs pulling cranks
if you can spare the money just get you a 24v trolling motor and 2 brand new batterys
fishing from the couch in front of the tv doesnt count
