What Torch said, and consider getting an on-board charger mounted somewhere in your rig. That makes it real easy to pull up and get it 'top off' if you get off the lake for lunch, or really easy to keep it charged between trips. Really helps keep your battery life up thru the winter months, too.
Guys, does that sound bout right???
Trojan T1275's.
Maachuu - I just did a bunch of research on trolling motor batteries. You want to look for the battery with the highest reserve capacity at a 25 amp draw (RC). RC is the amount of time in minutes it takes the battery to drain with a 25 amp pull on the battery. My interstate SRM-27s had a RC of 160 minutes. Most of the group 31 batteries will have an RC of 200 - 225 minutes. The highest RC group 31 size battery is a Trojan SCS225 at 225 RC. Some other batteries in the same category are also good like the Exide Nautilus NG-31s with 205 RC and the AC DELCO 29s at 210 RC. Interstate also makes SRM-29 with a 210 RC. There is also a Trojan battery that is a little smaller than the SCS225 called the SCS200 which has 200 RC. I also learned that many companies call the same size battery a group 29 or group 31. It just depends on the company.
The highest battery i found was a Trojan T-1275 with 280 RC. It is a tall battery and weighs about 82 lbs. One of these batteries alone might double the amount of time you are getting right now. The trojan batteries are sold at a place in Jackson called Battery Sales & Service. Not sure if you can find them where you are or not...
Of course two batteries in parallel will give you more run time.. It just depends on how long you want to pull cranks, if you can fit 2 batteries, and how much you want to spend. I got a 24v terrova and I just put two T1275s in my boat to replace my 27 interstates. I could get 4-5 hours on my interstate 27s and I have a big 1860 boat. I will let you know this summer how much time I get on the T1275s. I know that several people on this board use the Exide 205s and get 7 hours or more....

Do you have a three bank onboard charger ? You really need a bank for each battery. You could use a two bank but it will double your charging time on your TM batterys If you use it and have your cranking battery on one bank and then the two TM batteries on the other bank.
Maachuu, you can prolly get a local golf cart shop to get you a price on the Trojan.
G, mine is a 2 bank but I have a couple of Battery Tender brand battery tenders that I have used on my motorcycle before I sold them both, so I would use one of them
