    Default MDWFP grenada fishing report

Water level 196.93, rising 0.1 ft/day, murky to muddy. For water level information, call (662)226-5911 or check http://www.mvk.usace.army.mil/riverstage/bullet.txt Collins' Bait Shop (662)226-3581 has received most crappie reports from the Young's Landing area fishing towards Graysport Landing 8 ft deep in eddies in the river with a jig and/or minnow. As the water warms in the afternoon, fish may move shallower. Some fish were reported caught by waders. Some catfish and a few white bass can be taken in the same area. There have been some reports of crappie being caught trolling 5 to 7 ft deep in the main lake. There have been some reports of crappie being caught trolling 5 to 7 ft deep in the main lake. Fish were scattered, and bigger fish were more likely to bite minnows. No reports on largemouth bass. No reports of white bass running up tributaries yet. There is no size or number limit on white bass. See http://www.mvk.usace.army.mil/office...s/grenplot.jpg for water levels. The lake is 1.2 ft below rule curve since we are well behind on rainfall. The spillway had all gates closed Tuesday to try to bring the lake up. Best luck down here had been for crappie and white bass, but shutting off the gates will likely mean poor fishing in the spillway. Crappie can be taken on jigs and/or minnows in the spillway along the rocks and in the old river run. White bass are biting jigs in the spillway. Some good eating size blue (white river) catfish can also be taken on natural baits.

My question is A TENTH OF A FOOT A DAY. you got to be kidding me. Thast lakes gonna dry up if we don't get any rain

COE has the spillway at absolute -0- as of yesterday. Talk on the rocks was it will be shut for 3 weeks while cleaning the gates and pipes takes place. We get a nice rain during that time and they won't be able to open it down even if they want to.

The 2 storms that blew through recently did exactly that, blew through. Last one rained in town for 15 minutes. Don't think I got a full inch of rain betwee the 2 at my house.

Maybe our missery this Saturday will be rewarded with an extra 8 foot of water next week in Grenada.

If we get 20 or so boats in the middle pulling crankbaits and every one goes in a big circle it will look like a toilet flushing.
