    Default need 24volts

I have 2 group 31's wired in series (12V). I am installing a 24v trolling motor. Want to be able to charge 12v and keep all 12v accessories. If I jump the 2 battery's with one wire from positive to negative then wire the TM to the other 2 post I should have 24v at the TM and still have 12V to accessories.

That's basically the way I did mine. I put all of my 12 volt accessories on my cranking battery then jumped my negative on cranking to positive on trolling battery to give me 24 volts on my trolling motor battery only. Then hooked my onboard charger up to both. Checked it with volt meter and works perfectly.

Torch, if you have two connected batteries at 12 volts, they are running in parallel. What you are describing, positive to negative to get 24 volts would be series. I would not attempt to run 12 volt accessories on these. You will fry them. Use a separate battery, like your cranking battery.

If you combine the two batteries to pull 24V and draw that 24V from the + on batt 1 and - on batt two, you can still draw 12V by pulling from + and - of a single battery.

That said, don't do it. You're asking for interference on the FF and you're robbing trolling power if you're running aerators and accessories. Pull all 12V from the Cranking battery. Just make sure you've got a good cranking battery.

Never run anything on your trolling batteries except your TM. Run everything else off of your cranking battery. Make it a 29 or 31. The stronger the better. Do you have a 3 bank charger?

My livewell runs all day also off of my cranking battery......never has failed to start. But I do have jumper cables stored in the boat just in case.
