Monday - usual day of work at work and work at home
Tuesday - work called off due to da' blizzard
Wednesday - work called off due to da' after effects of da' blizzard and 8' snow drifts
Thurday a.m. - boss lost her mind and opened the agency
Thursday noon - Mom's nursing home called. Mom not well. Made quick trip to get her and tote her to the ER.
Thursday afternoon - getting to know all patients and drs in the ER on a first name basis....Blood draws, x-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds
Thursday 8 p.m. - admit to hospital and finally get her own room
Friday - tests, tests and more tests Hmmm let's do lots more tests, k? ... They are gonna figure it out or make up something I'm sure.
Friday afternoon surgery. Had large stone in common bile duct and found a stent that was placed in 2004 after complications from gallbladder surgery. Interesting fact: stents in bile ducts are to be temporary - no longer than a month. Hmmmmmm anyone want to figure out how long it's been there? Let's see Oct 2004 to Feb 2011. That's just a tad bit longer than one month isn't it?SO, guess we'll go in and take out the stone and take out the "temporary" stent, but things didn't go as well as planned so hmmmm......what should we do????
we'll place a new stent!
(FYI: I was there with the 2004 surgery and no one ever mentioned that the stent was temporary or that it needed to be removed at any point. Followup with surgeon never mentioned stent or needing to remove it!)
Saturday - day of recouperating still no solid foods for Mom......
Sunday (tomorrow) might let her have solid foods but no food after midnight 'cuz....
Monday - surgery to remove temporary stent
Tuesday - who knows? will she do well enough to go back to the "home" on Tuesday? Or will it be Wednesday? She's 87.
We had 2-3 inches of snow through the night last night and the idiots on the interstate were wrecking again. Finally got to the hospital to visit Mom and now back to work.
Keep Mom in your thoughts, please!I'd appreciate it!
