Feelay, can you hook yo sock to the back seat pedestal to keep it in the middle. That's where I hook my chain if I'm by myself or we both up front. Tried hooking on one cleat and that didn't werk.

You could if the bridle is long enough.

I hooked a rope to both rear cleats with the sock about five feet from the motor and couldn't steer the boat any more. It actually steered in the opposite direction.
