Default Dressed Treble Hooks on Cranks?

Anybody every tried putting some dressed treble hooks on the back of a crankbait? Seems like it would give it a good look and a longer profile. I am sure some of our expert jig tiers could tie up some #6 trebles and give it a shot. I bet a chartreuse dressed treble, hot pink, or red would work pretty good. I sure would not want to buy them though.. They cost about $2 each....

Boy, you got to much time on your hands. Go to grizzlyjigs.com, they got single hooks dressed up. They call them teasers.

I'd like to know how it effects the way the crankbait runs. If it don't, I could do that at my tying bench.

I wouldn't think it would effect them. How much would a few feathers or some squirrel hair weigh? You would need the long shank trible hooks. I tied up some teasers several years ago but never used them.

Did a bunch of it when I trash fished. Bandits mostly. The trick was if it was too bushy, it would add resistance and keep the back from wiggling right. Too much would slow the action and in some cases make the bait roll. The attraction to me is with a stop and go retrieve, where the feathers or hair would flair and settle. Not sure what it might add with trolling speed. If I did anything, It might be some 1" strips of flash-a-boo tied sparingly.
