Mr. Jim if you don't mind me asking, what size weights are you using to push them? I'am wanting to push some cranks and need to know about what weight would work under NORMAL conditions.

All i use is 2 oz. and i rarley fish in water over 15ft down to 3 ft.

I did some pushing this summer and had to use almost 8 oz to keep them back at only a 30 degree angle. then again, I was pushing them at 1.7 MPH. Less speed wold be less weight I would imagine. If you were going say at 0.7 MPH, bet you could get away with only 6 oz. Personally, I was using some Medium heavy rods that I use for Big Stripers

I push and only use 1 oz. weights most of the time....if its windy I use 2 oz I don't push them as fast as I pull them. My lines lay back some, not bad though. I use myB'n"M Pro Trollers to push with......same ones that I pull with.

Thanks fellows, that gives me a starting place, I will be using my BnM trolling rods also.
