Default Weekend Update -What ya catch?

How did everybody do this weekend? What did you catch?

Went to the rez Friday afternoon. Decided to pull some cranks for stripers and we were not disappointed. Caught two nice stripers. One was 5 pounds and the other was bigger than that. I lost him at the boat while trying to get my hands in his gills (still don't have a net!!!!). Also caught a nice largemouth bass pulling cranks. That is the first time I have ever done that... We released them all for another day.

    Pick from livewell:

Saturday morning we pulled for about thirty min for stripers. They were there... just not biting. Dad wanted to single pole so we hit some piers. Picked up 6 crappie.. A few were on Scott's hand tied jigs. Found a jug (pool noodle) that was floating against the wind down by the dam. We have not seen a single boat all day and new this noodle had been lost. Pulled up to the noodle and it disappeared for about 3-4 seconds. On the fifth try we finally grabbed it. Had two big catfish on it. The one on the top hook was about 6 pounds and the one on the bottom was 12 lbs or more. The top fish was tangled in the line and had all its skin skint off on an area about 8 inches long. There mouths were real red. Looks like they had been on that jug for days... maybe longer. Made a guy on the pier real happy when we gave them to him...

Thats is about it for me.. How did yall weekend go?

Went bass fishing with a buddy. We caught 30 or 35. I caught both these at the same time. We also caught my buddy 7 crappie to eat for dinner.

I couldn't help myself Mr. Steve. The bass are stacked up right now over on the river. We did take along the perch poles to catch a few for dinner. No problem doing that either right now. The best part is we saw maybe 4 other boats fishing. It was peaceful and good weather and you didn't have to take a number on any spot you desired to fish.

And the dinkmaster strikes again and he went by his self so I wouldn't have a chance to take it from him!! Man it has been so long since I've been fishing between wedding, doc appt and great grand-daughters dedication. Got to go back to the doc on the 8th for a lower unit exam, really looking forward to that!!!!

Sounds like you had a good day DG00. I know you made that dock fisherman happy with those cats too. Glad you guys saw that noodle instead of those fish just dying on the hook.:o

I wound up with 8 keepers out of 30 or so that I caught. I knew that SteveJ would enjoy that pic. LOL
