I believe you would hook Positive terminal on battery 1 to positive terminal on battery two. Then Negative terminal on battery one to negative terminal of battery two. Then just hook the trolling motor positive to battery one positive... and trolling motor negative to battery one negative.

That way the batteries are in parallel and the trolling motor is in parallel.

Check me on this though.. that is my first guess at it.

Wire your batteries in parallel..........pos to pos and neg to neg...........this gives you 12 volts.

I got no idea. I was rehooking mine up the other day and saw a positive of one to a neg of another one. That was it as far as cross hooking them up that I noticed. I really have no need for 24 volt, just 12V that lasts a long time

Wait a minute here.. You got a 12/24 motor.. you want to run it 12v so it will run longer using 2 batteries? Hummm do not think it will run longer hooking it up 12v on the batteries instead of 24v..
Everything held constant the motor should run longer hooked up 24v rather than 12v..
    Did I miss something here?

I was told by someone that by hooking them up parallel that it would last longer. This is someone that runs the TM pulling cranks and jigs so this person has them hooked up that way. I gots no real idea but thats what I was tolt
