So, since one popped shortly after you bought it, the truck probably already had this problem hence why the original owner pawned this lemon off on you. I would trade it in on a manly V8 4-Runner

Well, let's just see.
I've got an 05 Toyota Tacoma. Shortly after I got it, one of the headlights went out. No problem. Kind of wanted the High Intensity ones anyhow so I can blind folks as I ride around at night. They are a common bulb, a 9003. $40ish later I'm blasting away at folks and am quite pleased with the power I weild....the power to tick folks off. It's quite a rush.
Roll forward 3 months and pop, one goes out. Weird. Back to the store, covered under waranty. 3 months, pop the other goes out. 3 months, another. Switched both to a different brand. 3 months, pop. 3 months pop. Back to OEM, 3 months, pop. Replace. yesterday...pop.
Hmmm....I'm beginning to see a pattern here.
Qualifiers...no, I am extra carful not to touch the bulb. The connectors are very tight and the bulb is completely secure with no play or vibration. I also have applied dielectric grease on some, but not all replacements.
Answer this correctly, and I'll be nice to you for a whole day.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

Maybe, but I have no other electrical issues at all. One hitch is that the truck has a system where the lights are on all the time as well as the fog lights if you leave them in the on position at the switch. I normally do, but I'm wondering if I'm just using up the useful life of the bulbs. Then again, the fog lights are on too, but have not had one of them blow yet.

Do the connectors get hot to touch while the lights are burning? If so then the connection is not as good and tight as you think. This can cause premature bulb failure.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
