Got my spider rigging stuff...

on the capps/coleman setup, what red hooks can I or should I use on this ?? just got the 214 size 2 on there right now

jigs tipped with a minnow work the best for me

I use the Gamagotsu (however they are spelt) octopus hooks Be careful with them cause they are some kind sharp. 00G, alot of use minners and I do love using the bigger one's like Wannabes long lost twin Minnerman does but sometimes at barnett they just won't take them. I get mine at Q & M and usually the medium are the right size but I normally get 50 medium and 25 large. Course it takes 16 minners to load all my hooks up with 8 dbl rigged poles out. Then it you pick up and move, there goes those 16 minners out the window

Well I was hoping to use some curly tail jigs and stroll'rs and go a little faster to get some action out of the tails of the jigs to try and get a reaction bite. Kind of like trolling crankbaits but with smaller lures. Looks like the general consensus is jigs tipped with minners all the way.

Funny thing 00G is that sometimes you have to bout sit still with bearly any movement to get them to bite if they are finicky

Yeah thats a good point... I got a lot to learn!!!!!!!! If you tip with minnows, I assume most just use a tube tailed jig? I guess a curly tail or stroll'r would not have much benefit if you got a minnow on the back... I do have some crappie nibbles and the bait pump I want to try also.

I have both hand tied and tubes I use. Donnie's hand tied were the ticket last weekend. Boy makes some fine jigs wheather you want some of Sats jigs or regular jigs, ole Donnie ties them up right. Go look at his website 00G and get you a few. Crappie Logic I just called him abit ago and ordered 20, 4 colors and 5 of each
