But who is gonna teach you Minner?
Someone needs to SHOW ME. I been guessing and reading articles for 2 years now and ain;t leanrt half of what I need to know
I just keep watching folks, reading a lot, asking questions, and trying stuff. I will get it together some day.
Same here G, I catch more than enough to keep the freezer full and give away as much as I eat. I must be doing a little something right. Just know I have lots more I can learn
thanks for all the tips guys, DD I dont have the problem with getting tired cleaning fish and dont have any to give away nor put in the freezer, so that is why I ask so many questions, so that maybe sometime I can have the luxury of catchin enuff for da freezer

oh yea just thought of something else to ask :) what size jigs you guys use ? curly tail or hair ?

maachuu
I use 1/16 mostly with curly tails and tubes. Mostly curly tails.
DD I pre tie my rigs and wrap em on a piece of pool noodle. My bottom hook and weight looks like yours. The total length is also the same. But where you got your loop knot tied and cut for your top hook, I got a barrel swivel. When I tie the line to the barrel swivel to the bottom eye of the swivel, I leave bout a 6"-8" tail on it to tie my top hook/jig head. Then when I break off I just tie the main line to the top eye of the swivel. I also use 14lb test on the rig line so the top hook stands out a little better. We catch quiet a fee fesh like this. Now whether it's right or not I dunno and don't really care as long as I can ketch fesh. Plus they easy to tie and handy cause we don't waste much time tryin to free em up when we get hung.
I didn't have them stored like I should have and when I pulled out the bag I have them in, they fell off my little styrofoam deal I had them on and went everwhere. I'm like you Minner, If it don;t come out after a couple tries, I just pull back and break it off. Then I just retie on the spot. Don;t take but a couple minutes to retie cause I've broke off so many times, I done got real good at it. LOL I'm got 10 lb test line on mine though. Line size isn't that important on Barnett, waters so muddy that it's irrelivant.
