question about crappie.................

when i cleaned the crappie monday, it seemed like there was a large amount of what looked like stomach fat (white, fatty mass) in the belly...........never seen that before in such a large mass. any one know why or what this is?

You obviously stumbled on to a school smoking crack. When Crappie hit the pipe, that white stuff builds up in their system. I say that on account of them being good looking fish. And that being the case, and you being you, that's about the only way I can figure you caught em....on account of them being under the influence.

female crappie that just sit on the couch all day watchin' soaps and eating bon-bons? AND I can catch a legal limit every now and again, Duck!

Have read that in the fall crappie begin to pile on the fat to make ot thru the winter also you should start seeing the beginning of an egg sac, they are gourging now and convert all the shad to fat.
