Talk about catching someone off guard. Have you heard anything new over the weekend Torch
I found out that the State has a lease with the corps. The land that Cossar sits on is corp owned. The state sent a letter to the corps that they would not renew and the corps could have it back. After talking to my buddies at the corps they are going to close it because it would take too much money to bring it up to their standards. Its a sad situation and please contact your representative.
That is really sad because that is a nice park.
I wonder if this isn't typical politics. State cuts the money, agency heads announce cuts to ther services that will create the greatest outcry from the public, state restores funds. Happens a lot. This doesn't quite sound the same, but very well could be.
Wannabe...
shocker news, torch...........will send rep a note. same thing happened with us in greenwood, when they closed florewood state park because of budget cuts. i don't see how we manage to spend hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars on foreign aid, yet cant afford to keep our parks open..............it's very sad what's happening in this country....................
Anyone who enjoys fishing in MS whether a resident or not should get on the bandwagon with this! The squeaky wheel gets the grease they say! Speak up everyone!!!!!
