I think you better get it checked out by somebody that know whats going on and how to check it. Alarms are on there for a reason. Most of the time if something is wrong with the alarm system....the alarm just does not work. In your case it is working but now you have to find whats wrong. Boat motors can be very expensive to fix....don't fool around with it.
