    Default Night Fishing Enid Tonight

I am wife and kidless tonight, so I was thinkin bout giving the night fishing thing a shot. Anybody done it locally? I don't have a clue what to do, but I think I'm still gonna try. Should I just pull cranks as normal? Or will I need to slow it down with minners of something? Am I required anything more than my couple of running lights? I've also noticed that some ramps don't want you to access after dark. Anybody know what ramp I should use?

I sure hop Big Feets can't swim

You only got a 1/4 Moon tonight so I wouldn't think cranks would be all that effective. If you pull 'em, I'd start out extra slow...maybe 1.3 mph.

On the other hand, hangin' a fishing light over the side on a productive area with minners might just be the ticket. I keep thinking I'm gonna try it one of these days....er...um...nights, but didn't want anybody to call me an idjit. Therefore, I fully support your decision to give it a try. Ya idjit.

Didnt think night fishin was legal on coe lakes the ramps are posted day use only. But if its ok go down bean creek and find an oldtree and hang a coleman lantern on a low limb and back away 10-12 ft and and wait for dark as soon as you see the bait fish put a minner in there.

You can use any ramp you want, lots of folks bass fish at night. Pstone has done some night trollin at Grenada this summer with good success, I was told. Used a black light mounted to the front of the boat and pushed minnows. He said the black light made the hi-vis line look like flourescent ropes.

Guessing I should call and see if it's legal 1st.

    Won't have a black light.
    Won't have a lanturn.
Won't have any minners (bait shops will prob be closed).

Maybe I should just stay home and crack a few tops?

I saw some fisherman on grenada last saturday night running jugs at two a.m. so either its ok to fish at night or the rangers just don't patrol that late

I used to night fish for catfish at Sardis and there was always a lot of boats out....so unless there has been a change made it should be legal. Got to have running lights on your boat and you have to leave your back light on if your not running or anchored.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

    Default This Just In

    The lake po-po says:

"The boat ramps are open for launching at night on Enid Reservoir according to the Corps of Engineers. The fishing regulations are the same as day or night far as creel limits, etc. Boaters should exercise caution when night fishing on lakes that have standing timber present. Boaters should comply with all US Coast Guard approved and required equipment for boating and mooring at night. "

And den he emailed me back with:

    Coast guard regs:
"Between sunset and sunrise, boats are required to keep bow lights (red/green) on when moving and the all-round stern light at all times, even when anchored."
