Default Elite 5, anyone using one?

As soon as I get my new credit card I will be ordering one for my TM, any thoughts from those who have one? I have a mac mini and don't know if Lowrance emulators will work with Apple, anyway I didn't see one for the Elite 5 anyway.

I'm not sure I'd go that route SteveJ for the following reasons:

    1) Appears to be non-networkable for future upgrades

    2) Not available with Insight mapping.....I'm thinking if you ever see Okitibbee on an HDS, you'll definitely want it over anything else.

    3) Funky mounting bracket - That's jacked up....never have understood why H'bird uses the same system and now danged if Lowrance ain't following suit.

    4) Not many people are running them and it's gonna minimize resale value if you decide to pull it off and punt.

    5) Looks to be a lower powered unit than the old LMS or the new HDS....hard to tell with the way they rate them these days....probably by design.

    6) To get the mapping you're after, you're gonna end up with a E-5 + $150 in Navionics....awful close to what a HDS with Insight is gonna set you back, but the maps aren't as good.
