Some credit cards allow you to get a number for a one time use only. Order some bandits and the number is finished no one else can use it. I am pretty sure discover does this but not sure of the others.

Believe it or not....last time I actually check it for me and my wife it was higher than any I'd ever seen through work. And I've seen a bunch of 'em. Of course, I attribute that to 3 things......Clean living, a high fiber diet and Is. Mostly Is though.
Ya'll might not believe this, but I haven't paid a household bill in about 17 years now and I couldn't tell you off the top of my head within $500 how much my paycheck is. It's the perfect world for me.....I got Is to pay the bills and ya'll to buy lunch....why the heck would I need a checkbook anyhow. Bwahahahaha.
Wannabe...
Happened to me also. Dang, I like them cheaper priced lures too.
got 4 new cards last year didnt order bandits till this year got 2 new ones this year
Lets all send this thread to Bandit. I already have sent to the acct. dept., no answer, guess I need to send to other depts. Anyone live up there close by to go tell them in person.
I agree steve... As many of us as are customers, with some of us possibly owning stock in Bandit (sat, maj) I think they should be at least concerned with what is happening, or else we can order wiggle warts or wally marshalls... But I do like my bandits made close to home
I had someone make two hits on my card for $100 back to back. This was in June. I know I had ordered some Bandits around that time but will check to see when. :(
Hate to hear this happened to you Steve but glad it was caught before a lot was charged to your account.
I'm thinking of limiting my mail orders to places that take PayPal.
I opened a new account and changed my paypal over to the new account. It now has a limit to what can be charged.
same thing in missouri, our unauthorized charges were from north korea, and they were big, just two months ago I orderd some bandit lures but never connected it till today, ain't this sumptin
what's amazing is a bunch of dumb redneck fishermen can figure this out while the company doesn't even have a clue. Sounds like a perfect time for a sting. There's a federal website set up just for catching stuff like this. Anyone know it? There might be a reward in it if yall bust up a major ring!!!
I have ordered from Bandit Lures a few times this year and I had the same thing happen to me in June. Cleaned my checking account overnight. All came through as International transactions. It was a mess but the bank did get it all fixed a day before I left for vacation.
Sure would like to hear something from Bandit Lure Co concerning this. I think they might do themselves a favor for being proactive if it's not too late.
Well my statement from Bank Plus just came today and there was a $300 charge for Direct TV. I use Dish Network. There was an order made from Bandit Lures 2 days before.
Hey guys the HTTPS part of a website only means that the site talks to your computer over an encrypted channel so some random person on the internet can't intercept it. It doesn't mean really anything about the security of their systems. You should never give any personal info to a site if it isn't started with HTTPS, but don't let that be the only thing you look for.
Most companies don't process their own credit card payemts. They send them to a processor's gateway to do that. It's really expensive to keep up to code if you process cards, so most companies out source that. Sounds like whomever Bandit uses is getting their records harvested quite regularly. Hopefully they will get that fixed its not good to get your customers money stolen from them....
an inside job to me that someone hacking into their computer. Kinda like when someone made up fake checks on my checking account with someone else's name on it but had all routing number and account info. It was screaming an inside job cause I only write 1 check a month and that's to the gym where I teach my classes
I am so greatful for this thread. I need some more bandits and was considering ordering from them. I would have caught a lot of Doo Doo from the Mrs. if this would have happened to me.
DP
I placed an Internet order from Bandit back in June, and you guessed it, same as you other guys..... within a week they had run up close to a 1000.00 on about four charges, heck, they rented movies from Netflix one night. I had no idea this stuff happens so much.
It looks like one of the banks ,or creditcard companies, or someone would conntact Bandit lures and see if they could figure out the problem.
I have sit here and only see where one person attempted to contact Bandit and that was thru e-mail. Why in the heck don't ya'll call them. Can't understand not calling Bandit directly.
business hours are MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY. Gonna call them Monday sice we have 14 people on here that have had it happen
I have filed a police report with the Lauderdale County Sheriff Dept. and we'll see what happens.
Just A Question Has Anyone Had This Happen When Using Pay-pal??
guys try amazon.com!after reading through this thread,i put a search for bandit lures and there are some listed there.i've had this same crap happen to me recently too not sure how,but had to get new debt card # n all.anyways after the fraud happend and was taken care of i decided to try and just order through amazon.i've made some orders lately through them and no issues or problems!hell,my order of fly/jig tying stuff i made arrived today and i didn't even open it yet :D amazon is secure and safe!
You register with PayPal and open a ccount with them.....When you purchase things , if the seller is set up for PayPal you pay through PayPal. I like it because PayPal keeps your credit card number on file....so you do not have to enter your number to a website. When you click the PayPal button on the site you are buying from...it takes you to your PayPall account, where there will be a printed invoice from the sellor for your purchase.....Paypal sends a message to the sellor that you have paid. Your credit card pays PayPal and PayPal pays the seller. Its very safe.
I have have had an account with paypal for years the only thing you have to watch out for are some bogus emails (phishing) trying to get you to give them your pay pal account number or password. I have done several large transactions with paypal and never had a problem, I just wished everyone would accept them as payment. I'm pretty sure that Bandit luers does not use paypal at this time.
Yep....Your right on the phishers Slabo.....The real PayPal will never e-mail you for account information etc. because they already have it.
Yup been usin PayPal for years and never any problems
SteveJ, paypal is like a middle man that's secure. It's owned by ebay. You can place your credit card info or you can open a checking account at your local bank and then "attach" your paypal account to it. I opened up a "Internet use" checking account at my local bank in addition to my main checking account. I attached the internet use account to my paypal account. I can transfer money to and from my paypal account via that bank account or I can use a credit card that's on file with paypal to pay for a purchase. If you sell something and someone pays you via pal pal you then have a credit balance with paypal. You can use that money to buy stuff on the internet where they accept paypal OR you can transfer it to your bank account and then pull the cash out.
I called bandit in june and told them my bank debit card and credit card both were compromised and only common use was on there website said they would look into it I am about to sick my credit card company on them, since they apparently have not done anything about it. since it is still happening they will get to the bottom of it since they are having to eat all these false charges. I had heard from oleblue that one of his friends had it happen also when I talked to them she said she would have there programmer or whoever look into it. that was it.
Thanks For The Reply On The Pay-pal Question As I Have Also Not Had A Issue With Them As Of Yet And Have Used It Many Times,,,
Thanks,
some weird stuff for sure,
I placed a order back on 7/15/10 and had no problems with other charges to my account.
I just found out I had 2 other charges to my account that I did not make both on 7/18. I guess Discover caught them and removed them as they have been credited back to my account. But Discover never notified me of anything wrong. One for $13.90 and 1 for 18.90.
