Guys....They have just bought brand new certified tournament grade scales so there should be no problems weighing.
Since I have been pushing MCC on you guys and it looks like several of you will fish with us this year I will commit to fishing a few of ya'lls. Before I do, like mentioned in an earlier post, some of the rules need to be visited and posted.
WB will post the new rules shortly and I am sure some will be mad but they are the same as MCC and Crappie masters.
We're working on revising them now. Be patient.
TLow, as far as record keeping goes....any error in that regard were my fault. The old scales we had didn't help much and there was some confusion on my part about whether there were 10ths of a pound being called out or ounces. In some cases, the weight was called for example as Eight point six and recorded it as 8 and 6/10ths of a pound when it was actually 8 pounds 6 ounces. As far as I know, none of the placing positions were affected by an error like that, but some of the middle of the pack probably were. The new scales display in 100ths so the recording errors on my part should stop......assuming I can read my handwriting that is. :) In any event, all of those errors were my fault. Unintentional, but still my fault.
What was the issue with weighing in then re-weighing a big fish? In MCC once you weigh your 7 fish and your big fish (or fishes we can weigh more than one big fish) that's it. How was one able to re-weigh. Once you bring your 7 fish to the scales that's it. That's the only rule I have concerns with. I can see how participates were upset if that took place.
A similiar situation happen to some of my MCC buddies in a Crappie Master tournament at Ross Barnett. They had caught a great stringer of fish. They didn't realize that you could only weigh one big fish with CM. They presented their first big fish to the weigh master and the weight was recorded. Well it turned out that their second big fish was bigger. It was actually a 3 pounder but since they had weigh one already they weren't allowed to present the other fish. Ofcourse they were pissed but it was written in the rules they just assumed CM was like MCC.
Ive seen more than one fish weighed in at CM and have done it.
Well it was the same fish weighed twice due to water buildup on the scales. Not saying whether it was right or wrong but should look into a towel to keep scales in same condition for every stringer
scales compensate for that MO. We should not have allowed 2 fish being weighed. I have sent text messages trying to resolve this but to no avail. I talked to Betty Rutledge at CM this morning and they allow ONLY 1 BIG FISH TO BE WEIGHED, I ain't calling you a liar Bigger but it did not happen at a CM tourney maybe a MCC tourney.
WB, I can see where the record keeping issue will be much easier with the new scale. As far as fish being reweighed, if that is allowed to happen, you are setting yourself up for problems. I like the set up that MCC has and it would probably be wise to mimic that set up as much as possible.
