Default Guys I don't know about dragging a bucket?

We drug this bucket around the whole time we fished and we didn't catch anything in it?

But it does slow the boat down.

Maj, we have an older 60 HP Mercury on that boat, and it isn't ideal to say the least for slow trolling.

With the trolling motor down it would run about 1.9 MPH with two people in the back of the boat, but this weekend we had one in the back and one in the front and I guess with the weight in the front it pulled the motor up and it would run faster, so we threw the bucket out and got it back down to 1.8.

Not sure what speed we needed to run at, we just ran it a slow as we could get it to go with bucket out and trolling motor down.

I know it doesn't sound like much of a difference, but I think you need to get it to 1.6 if you can. It depends on the time of year & water temp but this time of the year I think slower is better.

I bet you forgot to tie a crankbait to the back of the bucket, I used to wonder why mine didn't catch anything too

Major I may have to add a bucket, man my boat isn't big enough.

I wish I had a 4 stroke motor that was quiet.

I hear you Speck, Sat, G, and R2theGrease.

All I need is another crankbait to keep up with.

I had a keeper on one and was reeling it in and I had three other crankbaits with it. And to top it off the dang fish came off at the boat.
