That's a sad feeling when you're looking at a nice keeper all hung up in a couple of other lines, we've all been there. One thing that might help you, try to raise the rod tip up high and pull the fish to the top before you start reeling, once he's on top you can usually ski him on in over or around the other lines.

Question 1: It really depends on your boat and motor. I have drug 2 buckets with my 1860 G3 and a F90 Yamaha. It slowed it considerably more than 1 bucket. I tied one on each side of the boat to a cleat and it worked well.Quote:

Suggestion 1: Try adding a nice Garlic Scent to your bucket.
Suggestion 2: Toss the bucket and get a few different size drift socks. I can mix various combination of socks and dial my speed to exactly what I want. The smaller ones are easy to deploy and retrieve so if I don't get the speed I wanted the first try I simply replace one. Much easier to store as well.
