Any of you using a jack plate on Aluminum boat? I am considering putting a jack plate on my war eagle predator.
I want a good place to put my H'bird SI transducer and from what I am told there are advantages in the way of stability.
Let me know if you guys know anything about this stuff.

I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

A JP is not a cure all, but in most all applications, you'll see better performance with the ability to lift the motor for less drag and additional set back that changes the balance point of the boat as well as putting it a little further back for cleaner water to run in. Under most circumstances, you'll see modest mph gains and better hole shot assuming it's set up properly. Might have to make a prop change to get all the benefits of it though. The trouble is, you need to know if you're getting enough water pressure so you can jack it as high as you want and still be in the green according to your motor's specks. Most don't have one. Not that big of a deal, but kind of a pain to install yourself.
But the real benefit, is they look really cool.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
