Great story Chris. Really enjoyed reading it. Made me tear up more than once.
Well I stumbled into this late in the process but I eagerly awaited every chapter. The highest compliment I can pay you is to say it reminded me of my all time favorite series called "Stories of the Old Duck Hunters" written in the 50's by Gorden McQuarrie. If you have never read him, I urge you to get a copy and try him. There are 3 books in ther series, that one being the first.
He is the finest outdoor writer I have ever read because it was all about his relationship with his Father in Law and later a friend, rather than techinal stuff and limits, etc. Read his book and consider yourself in his company.
Thanks for sharing this with us.

You can hang with Mississippi's finest. William Faulkner, Tennessee Williams, John Grisham.... and Wannabe. Thanks for sharing. It sounds like your father made the world a better place. The world needs more people like your father.
