    Default boat regulations

gonna make a trip to sardis and maybe some other lakes if possible and have been to the state websites but it seems like its hard to tell for sure what the boat regulations are.hear in tn for a 17 ft boat you must have lifejackets, throw cushion, whistle, paddle, fire ext.,so would their be anything else i would need or would i be ok.and on sardis is their a pole limit, and is 20 the creel limit on crappie, thanks:D:D:D

I agree with you that it's hard to read these regulations, but in case you haven't tried, here is the link to the MS folks. They have a thread where you can ask specific questions and they might answer you.

Hope this helps. Some of the guys on here are really up to speed on those but I guess they're gone to bed already. You'll get some feedback tomorrow.

    You need your FISHING LICENSE
    BOAT REG
    PFD for each fisherperson
    1 throwable
Fire Ext if you have a built in gas tank or over 16 feet.
    NO NOISEMAKER REQ
    NO PADDLE REQ

Make sure your fish are OVER 12" if you keep them...

And the 20 fish creel limit is correct, per person.

5 poles per person. If boat is 16' or larger you don't have to wear your pfd while trolling, just when on plane.

The COE was doing safety checks at Butla Sunday, and I was told by a Ranger that you had to have a noise maker on Corp lakes. He gave me a whistle and told me to put it on my key chain. I had never heard of this requirement before. He also checked my fire extinguisher, throwable, and life jackets.

    Does a shotgun count?
