I've also been looking into that boat. That has one heck of a deck on it for that size of a boat.

never had one but did fish out of a Z8 and it rode pretty good and I liked the layout. It had a 225 opti than ran good.

This weekend I looked at Bass Cat, Ranger, Nitro, Traker, G3, Triton, Stratos, and Skeeter and so far I like the Nitro X5 the best. Just a little worried about the Mercury motor

Out Of 6 Boats I Have Had I Had One Merc And It Ran Ok But Was Cold Natured Starting. As Far As The Routine Problems You See With Outboards I Van't Say It Was Worse Than The Evinrudes And Johnsons I Have Owned. The Main Reason I Have Stuck To Those Or A Yamaha Is My Mechanic That I Have Used For Ever Likes Them Better And Can Work On Them Better. So I Would Have To Say Let Your Mechanic Help Make Your Decision Also. Not What He Likes Necessarily But What He Sees More Of In His Shop And What He Prefers To Work On. Hope This Helps A Little Bit Anyway.

I was told recently that the smaller Mercs 25 hp and less the power heads were made by Tohatsu and the larger ones the power heads were made by Yamaha.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
