    Default Trolling Plates

does anybody use a trolling plate for pulling cranks. i used to pull bandits with my old bass boat and had to pull four buckets. does the trolling plates eliminate the need for buckets?

Yep, work like a charm. Just look odder than DD in his speedos. Some things just shouldn't be.

Default I had one on the Nitro and it worked great EXCEPT

for when you want it to turn and sometimes it don't that well. I think I'm gonna get some 1/4 inch steel plates and bolt it on the trolling plate so that crank gets fixed and put it on the Bay boat. TIRED of chunking out 5 buckets to get down to 1.8 to 2 MPH BTW, Wannabe, I threw out the Speedo's, just don't wear nuttin no mo

Torch and I both have the Troll-a-matic plate and it does work great. It is a lot better than the Happy Troller that DD has, just sayin.

Sat, and/or Torch. I read some product reviews on the Cabela's site & the only negative was a loss of top end of about 5mph. Did either of you experience this?
