Mounting a kicker motor

I just got the mount in and I am concerned about it interfering with the big motor. Any help would be appreciated.

Onliest way is to place it temporarily with a stand, then run both motors through all of the possible movements. You're prolly gonna have to jerry rig something to hold it up in it's intended position as close as possible. Dont' forget to test them both in full range of tilt and swing.

The down position I am not worried about. Its the transport position or the UP position I am most concerned with.

I might mount a plate to the transom with about 12" offset, I think everything will clear. Another question, If you mount the motor too far left or right will you have problems going straight?

If you mount to the outside, say port....you will have to oversteer somewhat to compensate for the uneven push of the motor. Additionally, you'll have somewhat sluggish response when turning port. Starboard will be a dream though. Best to mount as close to centerline as possible for the best steering control and tracking. That said, the difference between 12 and 14" off centerline will be negligible. The difference between 12 and 24 would be significant though. Just get as close as possible with say 1" of safety space. Don't forget the transom will have some give and the motor will rock when on the trailer, hencse the cushion.

Ask Creek to measure how far out his kicker is off the center line. Bet his is significant, but bet he doesn't have any steering issue - 'course, he'll have more keel than you though for tracking. That's why I'm saying as close to center as reasonable.
