    Default Cleaning aluminum

What do you guys use to clean the "pond scum" stuff that accumulates on your hulls after a few trips out? Or, is it easier to get on the good side of IS & get her to assign the clean-up to WB.

Duragloss wheel cleaner. Part number 853 in a gallon or 851 in a quart. Spray on and hose off. If its not real bad get a 3M maroon scuff pad and lightly sand the scum.

I've had mixed feelings on it. With the stain they won't think you are newbie launcing your boat for the first time.

Yer supposed to wash them? I just wait until the mooshed minners get all dry like a leaf and I just toss them over the fence into the neighbors yard. As for cleaning the outside, this is the first I've heard of this and I intend to call a meeting of the International Committee of Lackmasters. We'll have to discuss and debate this problem completely.

I think we're gonna wind up passing a resolution or something. But, not before supper I hope.

I've seen people take some old towels with them and wipe it off when they load up. I guess thats a lot easier than trying to wash it after its dried on there

Just be sure that what you use is not a oxidizer.......I had a bare finish aluminum Basstracker ones and I used 409 on it...yep it had a oxidizer in it turned the whole boat black. I wound up have to use some of that acid they clean truck trailers with to get it bright again. The boat I have now is painted aluminum but I am still careful what I wash it with. I use a regular boat wash thats says on the bottle ( Will not harm aluminum) I get it at Walmart.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
