Default Boat Rigging: A Jouney Through Time

Better yet, A Journey Through Lots of Time.

Well, I got 6 hours of work in on Sunday, Mother's Day. Yes, Mother's Day. Let me tell you, I lost 12 pounds and shaved 3 months off my life cleaning the house on Saturday.

Anywho, major progress to report. I installed the Ram at the console and installed the trolling motor. Yes, 6 hours.

The hold up was the plate for mounting had to be cleaned up, machined and fitted exactly. It involved sanding with 4 different air tools, measuring, fitting, tapping, counter sinking, measuring again, a trip to the store, measuring again then installing. And I still managed to mess it up. The plate had a "good" side and a "bad" side. The last step was to counter sink two holes and wouldn't you know it, I countersunk the wrong side. And when I say I, what I really mean is Jerry, my mechanic, with me standing over his shoulder complaining about how hard it is to install this plate. LOL.

Anyway, pics. Sorry, you'll have to wait some more for the finished project.

Better slow down. At this quick pace the rash of unexpected errors is bound to grow exponentially.

BTW, I just spoke with your mechanic. He says his labor rates are:

    $39.00/hour shop labor
    $59.00/hour if you watch
    $49.00/hour Sundays and holidays
$69.00/hour Sundays and holidays if you watch
$169.00/hour Sundays and holiday if you help
$1,690.00/hour Sundays and holidays if you post pictures and blab about his mess ups on the internet afterwards.

I know a banker in Grenada if you need a loan to pay off that bill. He says you can mortgage your Easter Bonnet and Apron. He said that kind of needle work is usually only found done by 14 year old Indian lace weavers.

I asked him that. He said you know them crooks up on Wall Street? I said yeah, I've heard of them.

He said, and I quote, "I'm gonna learn em a thing or two".

I think he plans on leaving a mark.

It ain't gonnabe that bad. I tapped 2.5 of those screw holes.

Dern. Jerry has tools I've never even heard of. Couldn't have been done without his help. The countersink error was mine. Most things that go wrong are.
