    Default tying C&C rigs

what lb. test do you use. ive been using 14 lb.moss green and dont know if to downsize or not. tying mostly 1/2 and 3/8 oz. are those good weights. also have been tying premade spinners that we use for trout in front. they look good but im worried the blade may be too big. its a little bigger than nickel size. does anyone use these?

Tie mine with 8# or 10# hi vis viscious. 1/2 oz, 3/4 oz, 1 oz. Never used any blades other than the ones on road runners.

On mine I use 10lb clear stren. I only use hi-vis viscious on the reel. This time of the year I use two 1/16oz jig heads or 1 minner hook on top, a 1/4 oz egg and a 1/16 oz jig head on bottom. If it's calm I'll use a 1/32 oz jig head on top & a 1/16 oz on bottom. As they go deeper and the boat traffic picks up I'll go with more weight.

I don't think it matters much what # test line you use on our murky waters. The hivis line doesn't seem to spook them either. To me the viscious is lots better than the Mr. Crappie, I've used both, and both are cheap.

I agree with the viscious being better. Mr Crappie has too much memory for my liking.

Feelay how do you tie yours? Do you use a three-way or a two-way and a tag line for the top hook? I use the two way set up with a piece of line bout 24" long and when I tie onto the swivel I leave a tag hangin off bout 4-6" for the top hook. This way I ain't got so many knots to tie.

#2 On the Viscious Line. I use 6lb. I think it gets deeper and gives the bait more action

I use a three way. I tie my rigs both long and short. Short rigs, for when the fish are shallow, and long rigs, for when the fish are suspending in deep water.
