I'm already scouting places to get more Cranks now. LOL I'm new so I ONLY have 110 of them hehe
Thats NEXT in my Wish list. I'll have one by May or so, Guess you better start saving up Pedhro :D:D
I hope you clowns are proud of yourselves with what you did to DonDon. There he was perfectly content fishing his bridge pilings happy as a clam until one day SOMEBODY told him how to catch a ton all fish summer long. Now you've created an one man spending machine on his way to becoming a master crankbaiter.
Could you get a transom mount with the c-clamp type mount, rotate the head and mount it on the bow? Would not work if your casting deck is flush with your gunwale but on my boat my deck is a few inches below the gunwale. This would allow you to keep the pd on the boat for open water and just temporarily mount the hand controlled tm for single pole and fishing stumps.
Here is a thread where they discuss mounting a transom mount tm on the bow.

I bought Terrova 80 lb. with US2 for $600.00 off Ebay from a guy in Tuepelo. He was a bass guy and the motor was only 6 months old when I bought it. As far as not being able to use the same Quick mount for both the maxxum and the Terrova, I have seen several guys who have bought 2 of the mounts for a Terrova and made modifications to one so that it will work with the Maxxum. That is what I am going to try once I find a used Maxxum for the right price. I am cheap.... I buy almost everything used...
I'm going with the full meal package. The terrova 80, with universal sonar and the Ipilot. About 1,500 plus tax. I hope I can figure out how to install it all and then work it.
I thought about ebay and the like and looked around at used BUT if I go new I get 3 year warranty so for me that's the best bet.
Darn sure the most fun fishing there is and I can't wait til this summer
BigKyd, I'm way ahead of ya. I think what I'm gonna do is permanently mount the PD, then have either a bracket welded on for a hand control or make a clamp mounting surface out of wood. The way my boat is made, there is a bit of gunnel above the deck and I plan to mount the hand control just about mid thigh on my left side when my seat is in the left pedestal seat. No, it won't be the most efficient way to steer a boat, but it's gonna be very comfortable and completely out of the way when I'm fishing. To steer, just drop your left hand down and it will fall right on the handle. With the PD still in place, running from spot to spot would be handy to leave your hands free as well.
Slimey, I may have found your used Maxxum......70# 24V, 42" shaft. I'm thinking $400. Only catch is, you gotta wait until I try all the above out before I turn loose of it.
Wannabe...
Retail is for suckers.
DD you can holler uncle at anytime, there is no disgrace in giving up...well, maybe there is on here!
