Basically, it tests text and information on the page and pushes an ad that is somewhat related in hopes that it will peak the user's interest.

For example, right now on my left margin is a google ad for CrappieWorldOnline, lake-link.com and captaincatchemall.com. I get that. The evony ads need no explanation, who wouldn't be interested, but just a minute ago, I saw an ad at the bottom for GothScene.com, apparently a dating service for Goth doods and chicks. Which begs the question, have you ever seen a Goth Crappie fisherman?

I'm gonna have to revisit my understanding of the ad server I think.
