    Default Katrina Relief

I don't know if you all know this, I just found out about it tonight, but if the evacuees are not registred at a red cross set up point, they can NOT recieve ANY of the supplies that are sent to the red cross. You might want to make at least some of your donations to different organizations such as the salvation army or chuch funds set up for the evacuees.

I used to date a girl whose parents were majors for the Salvation Army. They don't get as much attention as the Red Cross but they use their donations wisely. I only give to them, unless its blood.

ff, I agree with you that the salvation army doesn't get the attention that they deserve. Hopefully with the word getting out we can make the Salvation Army as big a name as the Red Cross and hopefully they will continue to use their donations in a wise manner.

I don't have much that I can contribute so I give what I can to the Salvation Arny.

Wasn't it the Red Cross a short time back that took the disaster relief money for Ivan (I think it was)and spent it on Administration upgrades. New office equipment and computers and carpet and got caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
