Profiling?

I don't think that the white sheet brigade figures in here at all. The opinons expressed here are, I believe, pretty much shared by most of the population of not only this country but around the world. People are scared and feel threatened by a small group of fanatics who are hiding behind a religion. I'm sure that there are a few that don"t fit the profile but I suspect that none of them are 80 year old ladies. Lets not ever forget that they brought the war to us. The most formidable force in the world is a bunch of PO'd Americans, I don't know abou the rest of you all but I'm mad as hell and ready to do something about it. It's time to take off the gloves and fight them by their own rules.

Eager Beaver, I wonder if you lost any family members or friends when the TERROSITS took down the twin towers and destroyed part of the pentagon.?! I lost a friend and old classmate in the pentagon. As far as the profiling issue I have a buddy who is of Lebanise/Cajun decent who is checked EVERYTIME he goes on an airline when they hear his last name and he does NOT have a problem with it. And yes he speaks out STRONGLY against the terrosits and their actions. This is not the same country as it use to be where we did not have to worry about things like terrosim.

Thanks for that response J White, It is also a very sore supject in Louisiana. I have some very good friends who are of African American decent.

What would be the point of searching anyone, without searching with the intent of either finding something, and possibly foiling an attempt, or simply to deter would-be's.
Not searching the right folks would be like searching folks at the beach in order to stop an airline hijacking. I don't fly much...but I've seen folks get very ill because they were "randomly" chosen. I'd be inclined to thank the security folks for searching me...tells me they are at least making an attempt.

Eager Beaver, you don't reckon that your doing a little profiling of your own with the "white sheet" comment do you? Maybe you figured that since all of us that had something to say were from the South, we are all the stereotypical Southern folks you might have seen portrayed in movies or read about in books.

Yeah, being born in '67, I grew up in an integrated society, and just don't
see why folks can't let the past lie - having lived in several different parts
of the U.S. and a little overseas, I think we get along fine with each other.
Some of the most outright racism I have ever seen was going on in a state
I won't name, well north of the mason-dixon, a state that was prominent
in abolition and the civil rights movement. Saw it overseas too, made friends
with some ethnic Kurds when I was in Turkey - those folks have been getting
crapped on for a long time now. Brings to mind the tales my parents tell
about going north for work in the sixties too - They said the natives were
raggin on the displaced peoples from Europe that came during and after
WWII, but when we (ethnic hillbillies :D ) came, they called a truce and
ALL started giving us heck. Human nature is not pretty sometimes.

LOL Nah just kidding, thanks for replying and IMO you hit the nail on the head about, (the other guy), don't want to mention names, doing a little profiling of his own. Not all of us southerners are "uneducated,inbred, trailer park trash".
