Well bad guys are gonna get automatic weapons off the black market anyhow. We ought to have the freedom to match them defensively. I don't have anything against it. Just use common sense. apparently the parent in this situation had none. It is sad and a bad price to pay for freedom. A reminder to all of us of gun safety and using some good judgment with firearms. especially with kids. CF

no. i would never let my 8 year old shoot an uzi (mac 10). i have fired one. the do try to rise up on you and an 8 year old is entirely to young to be firing a fully automatic weapon.
however, i don't believe they should be banned. it is up to each individual to decide on what is appropriate for their child. this is the essence of liberty and freedom that we enjoy (at least for the moment) in the usa.
I would never allow an 8 yr. old to do that either....my first thought was that the parent should be punished....but then what punishment could be worse than losing your child to your own stupidity
thing is you can control what happens in your house or when your around the child but what bout the lax parent down the street who has his uzi sitting next to his cookies.?
