Need suggestions on getting rid of yellow jackets. I had a nest in the ground just below the edge of my boat. I first poured half a gallon of used motor oil down the hole and put a heavy bucket over the top. They built a trench to get in and out. I moved the bucket and used 2 cans of flying wasp/hornet/yellowjacket spray. There were still hundreds. I put a bottle of lighter fluid in the hole, still no luck. I put a gallon of bleach in the hole, still no luck. I was told to use boiling soapy water, well that didn't do any good. I poured a gallon of gas in the hole and still had a bunch of them. I used 2 more bottles of spray. I then put another gallon of gas in the hole and risked my boat but set it on fire and the hole burned for 10 minutes. What's left of them moved up from the hole and are nesting in the cord mechanism of my trolling motor. I have used 2 bottles of spray and still have some yellow jackets. I have battled them for 2 weeks and never got stung when there were a ton of them. I have been stung twice though in the last three days after I have them thinned down a lot. I do not know what else to try since they are in my trolling motor. I thought about using my pressure washer and blasting up in there.
