When we were bad, we were "ornery" (pronounced 'ohn-ree') and if we were really bad, we may have to go pick a switch and get our backside "striped"
When I was good (usually the case...) Grandpa would call me "CrackerJack". And if I was really good, I may even get invited to go break off a bit of Grandma's ribbon candy!
My grandma and grandpa stored canned goods, salted meats in the side of a hill, the called it cold storage/cold cellar. It was just mountain stones and mud with a crude wooden door but it was cold, brrr.
Those were certainly good times
My grandparents and parents called pressure cooker a pressure canner. It really hasn’t changed much today I guess. I have a humongous one here that I cannot find a seal for.
