20 years ago today and the anger still burns, the war still rages around us.

And to top it off, I have a near relative, served in Iraq, was terribly injured and disfigured but got his life back together despite his handicaps, was doing well, got over the covid a few weeks ago. Went in to the ER Thursday morning with a pain in his lower abdomen and simply died there, totally unexpectedly. His mother took him to the ER, was not allowed in with him, and that's the last time she saw him.

Rest in peace, SGT. KL, and thank you for your sacrifice and service.
