Best Fall times?

I heard a pro on youtube say it is best to fish in midday not too early or too late in the fall for crappie. pressure shows 30.08 here and winds sse 6. I fish in 10 ft of water in a slough off the main lake, next to a channel.

Thoughts?

To be honest, I don't think the fish care all that much they eat when they eat, just go when you have time to go!

I agree with go when you have chance to go I like the early bite sometimes they quit by 1030 or so I like to be there before that

Yeah, I like to go right at day break. With the new day light savings, it's first light at around 5am. I love it! I am going to Guntersville Thursday night. A few of my pals report they are catching them in the shallows. I thought when it got cool, they went deeper. Guess I was wrong. Thanks guys. Have a good one.

Brian .... I've caught them shallow in the dead of Winter. When it "starts getting cooler" they'll go shallow, especially if the baitfish do, but once it gets (& stays) "cold" THEN they move out to deeper water. At least most White Crappie do, as some Black Crappie tend to stay shallow(er) than they do. You find the baitfish, and the depth they're schooled at, you're likely to find the fish in that same depth range ... and hanging around some type of cover, and that cover should be somewhere along the travel route of the baitfish as they move to the backs of the creeks & then back out into the main lake.

I fish all day a lot and it varies....a lot of times they will bite better during the day then morning or evening. Has to do with several factors related to plankton ,baitfish activity and I think the moon thing overhead and underfoot plays into it some. Fall can have days when they bite all day real good.Some days I wait for the sunset bite and it never happens. If the weather is changing during the day it may not be favorable in the morning and then change later and the fish turn on...or vice versa.

It's funny but all wildlife run on these cycles which have many factors that play into them. I noticed the later I sit on my deer stand...the more deer I was seeing at 9:00 and 10:00 and 11:00 and 2:00. I run a squirrel dog some and squirrel activity can be the same way.

Morning and evening will always be king....but it ain't the gap a lot of people think it is
