Photobucket addresses complaints over new policy that charges heavy users $400

There was a thread on the Main Message Forum awhile back about it. Basically Photobucket decided that those using their "free" services couldn't post those pictures on third party websites (like Crappie.com) without paying to do so. Photobucket realized it wasn't making any money on 75% of the accounts, even with the ads and offers, and decided it wasn't sustainable to continue to do so. They sent out emails, and posted notices (when you visited your account) ... and basically just "broke" the links between the accounts and those third party websites, which made the photos disappear from the websites.

What most of us did, I believe, was to download all our pictures from Photobucket back into our computer's picture files and close our Photobucket accounts. That's what I did, although not all of my pictures came through.

Ed now has an app that you can download onto your cellphone, and the pictures that are posted thru it are hosted right here on this site. Any pictures posted straight from your computer's picture files are also hosted here. App is free and works similar to Tapatalk app. I currently have both apps on my phone, just in case, even though I rarely post or read posts from my phone.

Android Phone --- go to your "apps" icon ... then "Play Store" icon ... then type in "crappie" ... then touch "Crappie Fishing Forums" ... then scroll down to the Crappie.com logo and install.

iPhone ... you're on your own (but it's likely very similar)

Thanks CP. I was looking on this site. Would have never thought about Play Store.
