I had to put my almost 12 year old chocolate lab female "Faith" down this morning. I had seen her health start to go downhill lately but when she started having seizures, it was time to do the dignified thing and end her pain.
She was bred to be a field and water dog--a hunter. I gave a small fortune for her at 10 months old but even then, she was only about 50 pounds of solid energy. What she lacked in butt size, she made up in heart and get-go. She would fight a chainsaw but was the most loving thing around.
She produced 38 pups in 4 litters and 37 of them lived to be some of the best dogs out there. Many have titled multiple times. One of them is now a renowned blood trailer and shed hunter. She has found many deer that others have given up on.
Life is going to have a void for some time where she stood.
RIP Big Creek's Leap of Faith SH
