My mother used to bake cakes and sell them in a ladies fresh market on Weds and Sat. Don't see that done anymore. Her chocolate cake was very popular and my favorite. Try as we might, no one else in the family has been able to duplicate her taste in the cake. My niece, who came the closest to matching my Mom's recipe, found a local lady who bakes and sells cakes and her chocolate cake was just like my Mom's. except this lady makes 14 layers as opposed to my Mom's 5 layer cake.(Think more chocolate) I buy two each year from her. One to have at my sister's for Thanksgiving and one for us at Christmas. Well, I could not stand it any longer. We had frozen it to keep and put it out to thaw today and it was too tempting.



Trying to decide between a glass of milk or some white ice cream to go with it.

Thanks, can't afford to eat this more than twice a year, but it is good. By the way, we coming back your way in March to fish "O" for bream and the everglades for Oscars. My buddy from Deland and I will be fishing together along with 4 more from here in SC.
