I think I can relate. I worked a night shift job for over 30yrs straight, of the 45yrs I was in that job. Basically working from 10PM - 730AM for 4days on, 4days off, then 3days on, 3days off. I found it to be in my best (mental health) interest to keep the same, or similar, hours on those days off .. whenever possible.
Fast forward to last year, when I retired in April ... and I've been struggling since then to maintain any kind of "normal" sleep/wake pattern (normal being asleep for 8hrs during the night hours). I don't have to "be" anywhere or "do" anything on a rigid schedule anymore, and that lends itself to making it even harder to keep a specific schedule without having to plan well ahead to be waking at a specific time.

But, believe me ... I'd much rather have this problem and be retired, than not have it and be working
